JBL Charge 3

JBL Charge 3 is still one of the best portable bluetooth speakers available in the market today. As soon as you open the box, you get a premium experience. The unboxing, the build quality, the sound, everything is just awesome. Let’s dive into each of these areas now:

Build quality

The build quality is simply amazing. It has got a nice weight to it, but not so heavy that you cannot carry it around. It’s small and very portable.

JBL front

On the top you have physical buttons for power, bluetooth pairing, volume control, play/pause/skip controls and JBL Connect feature that allows you to connect multiple of these speakers in a party or stereo mode. So if you buy 2 of these, get ready to have your mind blown!

JBL top

On the back you’ll find a flap behind which you’ll find the USB port, the 3.5mm aux port

Sound quality

I won’t call a speaker one of the best in the market if it didn’t have a good sound quality. The sound is crisp, the highs and lows are clear, oh and the bass, now that’s something you’re gonna love. But at 100% volume, the sound starts getting distorted.I find myself playing it at around 50-60% volume most of the times.

The speaker also has a in-built mic, so you can use it as a speakerphone for your calls.

And for the people always running low on their phone battery, JBL charge 3 also allows you to charge your phone via USB cable.

JBL side

Battery life

JBL Charge 3 offers a pretty damn good battery life. At around 50% volume, you can get 20 hours of battery life. There are only a few speakers in the market which come close. It is IPX7 rated, so you don’t have to worry about getting this speaker wet. But don’t just leave it in the water for longer periods of time(more than 30 minutes).

Inside the box you get a charging cable and an adaptor. The build quality of these is okay. So I’ll be careful while using them. Also, it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm auxiliary cable, which is a little disappointing. Other than that, you’ll get the warranty card, the user manual and a Google Play Music card which will basically provide you a 3 month subscription to the service free of cost. This is a nice value addition.

JBL Charge 3: Conclusion

JBL Charge 3 offers a great value for the pice, which at the time of writing this article is available at Amazon for $120. The speaker is absolutely stunning and with crisp and clear sound and also can be used as a power bank for your smartphone. It’s hard to find a speaker that checks all the right boxes. So go ahead, get yourself one and enjoy the music that you love.
