Samsung unveiled its 2018 flagships, Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ this Sunday which some significant improvements in the design and camera, oh, and a few other nice updates here and there. The pre-order starts 2nd March and while there’s no mention of the when the device which actually ship.
So let’s get into what the new Samsung flagships bring to the table:
Galaxy S9 has a 5.8″ display with a pixel density of 570 ppi whereas S9+ has a 6.2″ display with a pixel density of 529 ppi. We see the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio as with the Galaxy S8 and S8+.
The bezel size has reduced even further and the iris scanner is now hidden in the upper bezel.
Samsung has improved its camera a lot as compared to the S8. The rear camera now dual aperture modes – F1.5 for better low-light photography and F2.4 for photography in adequate lighting conditions.
Samsung has also introduced a super slow motion camera that allows recording videos at 960 frames per second. Neat!
Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of space, whereas S9+ has 6GB RAM and 64 GB of space. Both come with en expandable micro SD card slot supporting up to 400GB.
Now this is Samsung’s answer to iPhone Xs Animoji. And seems a lot better than that. So using this feature, you can create a cartoon-ish version. You can adjust your hair, put on some glasses and new clothes. All this and then Samsung will provide you with some predefined stickers using the above created emojis as base.
Samsung also has updated its Bixby app and introduced Bixby Vision. You can just bring up your camera or pull up an image and open the Bixby Vision to find out more details about it.
